Commentary:  

• A lot of pre-orders for Kindle issues of DC and Image comics this week, with Absolute Batman taking the absolute top spot on the chart and the top debut.
• The top print debut this week is the new volume of Solo Leveling; also debuting this week are a new volume of Kaiju No. 8; the pre-order for the next volume of Jujutsu Kaisen; and the Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees collection, which was released five months ago but is either just now breaking into the top twenty-five or has been mis-classed by Amazon for the past five months.
• The success of DC's Absolute line has been quite impressive; will it hold up as they expand the number of titles to include the other Justice League members, or will over-expansion kill the momentum?

Commentary:  

• A bit of a surprise this week as a new issue of Absolute Superman dethrones Dog Man: Big Jim Begins for the top spot.
• The top print debut is the eighth Wings of Fire graphic novel adaptation, Escaping Peril. It actually came out at the of 2024, but likely was hiding away in the kids graphic novel section until now.
• The only other print debut this week is the second volume of The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All.
• Several Kindle editions of various manga volumes debut this week, including Solo Leveling, The Ideal Sponger Life, Reincarnated as a Sword, and My Quiet Blacksmith Life in Another World.

• Dog Man: Big Jim Begins stays on top again this week, though the new issue of Absolute Batman manged to squeeze into the top three.
• The top debut this week is the first issue of Marvel's latest event series, One World Under Doom.

Commentary:  

• Dog Man: Big Jim Begins stays on top this week, and Dog Man titles sake the top three spots and five of the top ten. This is what having a number one movies based on your comics should do for sales.
• A new season of the Invincible series started this week, and the three Invincible Compendia dutifully returned to the chart.
• The top debut this week is a new issue of Transformers on the Kindle.
• Print debuts this week include new volumes of the manga series Kagurabachi, Dandadan, Boruto; a collection of the new Ultimates series, and the pre-order for the next Lore Olympus volume, which isn't due out until October.

Once again we've put the worldwide box office figures in parentheses, where you can see that many (most?) movies now do the bulk of their business overseas. 

Aside from Deadpool & Wolverine, it was not a great year for comic book movies. Sony's decision to flood the theaters with movies based on Spider-Man villains tanked (although Venom 3 did okay internationally). And both Here and The Crow were highly publicized duds, both critically and at the box office.

Movies scheduled for release in 2025 include: Dog Man (Jan); Captain America: Brave New World (Feb); Mickey 17 (Mar); Witch Watch (Mar); Thunderbolts* (May); Superman (Jul); The Smurfs Movie (Jul); The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Jul); Red Sonja (???)
