I don't know who that mechanized gorilla is on Chris Weston's cover to the Smash! 2020 Special, but he does not look very happy!

Commentary:

• The first full week of comiXology integration into the main Amazon site has a major effect on the Amazon comics chart, as a slew of Kindle single issues descend upon the chart, including the top-seller: a pre-order for an upcoming issue of the main Star Wars comic.
• Besides Star Wars titles, other franchises making appearances as single issues include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Transformers, a few X-Men & Spider-Man comics, and random other Marvel & DC fare. And Saga, which is one title that appeared on the chart before the changeover. All told, twenty of the top fifty slots are filled by Kindle single issues, by far a new record.
• The only non-Kindle debut on the chart this week is the pre-order for Shuna's Journey, the first English-language translation of Hayao Miyazaki's text-and-prose fable (which probably isn't 'comics' per se but we'll include it on the chart anyway).
• There are twenty manga titles on the chart this week; way down from previous weeks, but still pretty impressive given the Kindle single issue onslaught.
  
• Get vaccinated! And Get Boosted! It's your best way of preventing the next variant surge—Yes, we like variants in our comic covers, but we do not like them in our viruses!

Commentary:

• Maus stays on top of the chart again this week, with The Complete Maus hardcover staying in the top slot and the first paperback volume remaining in the third slot.
• The top debut this week is the pre-order for the third Lore Olympus volume—it's not due out until October, and in fact the second volume hasn't even been released yet.
• Also debuting this week are several individual Kindle issues for current or future issues of Saga, Nightwing, X-Men, Star Wars: The High Republic, and Power Rangers. While occasional single Kindle issues have appeared on the chart before (Saga and Star Wars spring to mind), this weeks relatively large number is likely due to Amazon switching off the comiXology site this week and moving all digital comics purchasing over to the Amazon site.
• Rounding out this week's debuts are new volumes of manga series My Hero Academia and Dorohedoro, the latter of which makes its series debut on the top fifty chart.
• There are thirty-one manga titles on the chart this week, down four from from last week.

• Maus stays on top of the chart, but this week it is The Complete Maus hardcover moving into the top slot.
• The top debut this week is the preorder for The Uncanny X-Men Trading Cards, a collection of Jim Lee's trading card art from the 90s. It is one of two Marvel books not published by Marvel on the chart, the other being the debut of the Viz-published Deadpool: Samurai manga. (Meanwhile, Marvel itself has zero books on the chart this week...) The other debut this week is a new Critical Role comics collection. 
• There are thirty-five manga titles on the chart this week, down one from from last week.

Commentary:

• Maus has been in the news as of late, and this week it moves to the top of the chart, taking the top three places as will as #6. At one point this past week it held the very top spot on the overall Amazon books chart, as today it still holds the #4, #6 & #15 overall spots. 
• The top debut this week is the Catana Comics desk calendar, somewhat oddly as calendars usually hit the chart for the first time at the end of the year, not well over a month in. Likely this happened due to a re-categorization by Amazon and not a sudden surge of interest.
• Also debuting this week is a new volume of Chainsaw Man, a new volume of Black Clover, and the fourth One Piece Box Set.
• I Love You and Cheese Pizza returns to the chart this week; maybe this is a new perennial Valentine's Day gift?
  
• There are thirty-six manga titles on the chart this week, up four from from last week.
