Sunday is Monkey Covers day here at YACB. Because there's nothing better than a comic with a monkey on the cover.
From 1965, Carmine Infantino draws the cover of Detective Comics #339, with Batman fighting the Living Beast Bomb, a gorilla with a bomb strapped to its chest!
(Standard disclaimer about terrorist gorillas not really being monkeys applies.)

Batman, Robin, and Explosive Gorilla look to be five to ten miles away from the Gotham skyline, except it fills the entire visible horizon.
Conclusion #1: that's one massive bomb if it can take out Gotham from this distance.
Conclusion #2: Gotham City is two hundred miles in diameter.
(Yes, I know that's an Infantino tick. He did it in The Flash all the time. He did it in Star Wars, although you could believe it in Star Wars better!)
The whole monkey on the cover business got to be such a problem that DC had to issue a memo instructing their staff not to put them on the covers!
Still I think that they are great!
