Here are the domestic grosses of comic book-related movies released in 2021, according to Box Office Mojo:

- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: $225M
- Venom: Let There Be Carnage: $214M
- Black Widow: $184M
- Eternals: $165M
- The Addams Family 2: $56M

- My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission: $12M
This was another COVID-influenced year at the box office, with differing release strategies leading to different box office outcomes and expectations, as well as timing being a big factor. Besides being a highly-anticipated MCU entry, Spider-Man: No Way Home was also fortunate to have been released just before the Omicron wave hit. The Suicide Squad was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBOMax which likely contributed to its muted box office, while Black Widow was released simultaneously in theaters and VOD (which led to a lawsuit by its star).
2022 looks to be possibly a return to a more normal year, with the following movies on the schedule: Marry Me (Feb); The Batman (Mar); Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Mar); Morbius (Apr); Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May); DC League of Super-Pets (May Jul); Thor: Love and Thunder (Jul); Black Adam (Jul Oct); Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Part One (Oct); The Flash (Nov); Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Nov); Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Dec); Shazam! Fury of the Gods (Dec); Batgirl (TBD).
UPDATE (Mar 9): Warner Bros. has updated their movie slate: DC League of Super-Pets is now scheduled for July; Black Adam is now October; The Flash & Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom have been pushed back to 2023; and Shazam! Fury of the Gods has been moved up to December 2022.
