Commentary: 

• And this week's new #1 is...: A pre-order for a Kindle single issue of Nightwing. It is one of four DC pre-order titles for the week of June 21 in the top ten, which indicates to me that the pre-orders went live shortly before I compiled this week's snapshot. So if I had done the compilation a few hours earlier, they likely wouldn't have even shown up in the chart at all. This kind of volatility makes me wonder if there's any value at all in continuing these weekly snapshots.
• In fact, the comics & graphic novels chart these days bears little resemblance to the chart of just a few months ago, as the addition of the Kindle single issues via the comiXology integration and the re-introduction of the youth graphic novels bringing in a good number of items that would not have been on the chart before. A quick count shows that twenty-four of the items in this week's top fifty—nearly half!—would not have been included on the chart at the beginning of 2022.
• Beyond all the Kindle single issues, a couple of print graphic novel pre-orders also debut on the chart this week:   the first volume of the manhua adaptation of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation: Mo Dao Zu Shi; and Sarah Anderson's Cryptid Club.
• And um, COVID is surging again, even if people and institutions seem to be ignoring this fact as if a rapidly-muting coronavirus gives any damns at all if you are through with it or not.  So make sure you are up-to-date on all your vaccines so you can continue to enjoy reading comics for a long time.
