Here are the domestic grosses of comic book-related movies released in 2022, according to Box Office Mojo:
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: $454M
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: $411M
- The Batman: $369M
- Thor: Love and Thunder: $343M
- Black Adam: $168M
- DC League of Super-Pets: $94M
- Morbius: $74M
- Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie: $35M
- Marry Me: $22M
- One Piece Film: Red: $13M
This was closer to a normal year than the previous two pandemic years, though the box office is still recovering and many high-profile comic book movies that had been planned for release in 2022 were pushed back to 2023 (or, in the case of Batgirl, cancelled all together.)
Movies coming up in 2023 include: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Feb); Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village (Mar); Shazam! Fury of the Gods (Mar); Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (May); Knights of the Zodiac (May); Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Jun); The Flash (Jun); Shortcomings (Aug); Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (Aug); Blue Beetle (Aug); Kraven the Hunter (Oct); The Marvels (Nov); Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (Dec).
As always, release dates are subject to change.
