Commentary:

• The Third Walking Dead Compendium make is seven of the last eight weeks as the #1 book on the chart, having only relinquised it once to make way for Sandman Overture a couple of weeks ago (which slips to #8 this week). 
• The only two debuts this week are both day-to-day (desk) calendars: Peanuts and Argyle Sweater. The Dilbert day-to-day calendar rises to the #2 slot this week. There are seven calendars total, as the aforementioned are joined by Maxine, Pusheen the Cat, The New Yorker, and The Oatmeal.
• As the new Star Wars movie approaches, there are ten Star Wars books on the chart this week—seven of those are by Jeffrey Brown!

Commentary:

• The third Walking Dead Compendium stays on the top this week, and is joined by the other two Compendia as Sandman Overture slips down into 4th place.
• The top debut this week is Fran Krause's cartoon collection Deep Dark Fears.
• The only other debut this week is the Kindle edition of the first issue of Dark Knight III: The Master Race; single issues rarely make it onto the Top 50 chart, so this is a good sign for awareness outside of the regular Wednesday comics crowd.
• Two of the biggest gainers on the chart are Marvel collections: Civil War jumps up 33 spots on the strength of the trailer for Captain America: Civil War; and the first Jessica Jones collection jumps up 26 spots on the strength of the new Netflix series. 
• The other large gainer this week is Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, jumping up 25 spots likely due to the release of DK3.

• We have a new number one this week, as The Sandman: Overture leaps past all of The Walking Dead to take the top spot. It is currently at #70 on the overall Amazon book chart.
• The top debut this week is Amazing Fantastic Incredible: A Marvelous Memoir, Stan Lee's memoir of working in comics adapted into comics form by Peter David & Colleen Doran.
• Also debuting in the top ten is the new Cyanide & Happiness collection, Stab Factory. Rounding put the debuts this week are three comics calendars: Pusheen the Cat, Maxine, and The Oatmeal.
• The emergence of several calendars onto the chart signifies that we are entering the holiday shopping period of the Amazon chart. This year it's combined with the release of a new Star Wars film, so look for things to get interesting between now and the end of the year...

• But other than that there's a lot of volatility on the chart this week, with sixteen item on the chart this week that weren't on last week's chart (both new and returning), and with many more titles than usual having double digit position moves. 
• The top debut this week is He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Minicomic Collection; it is joined at the new kids table this week by the second volume of My Hero Academia and the first collection of the Star Wars Kanan comic.
• There was a brief Preacher surge early in the week, in the wake of the trailer for the TV show airing during The Walking Dead on Sunday, but it has since died down.

iTunes Terms and Conditions: The Graphic Novel

Cartoonist R. Sikoryak, whose Masterpiece Comics I greatly enjoyed, has just completed a project where he has put the iTunes Terms and Conditions agreement into comics form, with each page being illustrated in the style of a different artist. It's kind of brilliant. Here, for example, is page 47 in the style of Alison Bechdel:

Commentary:

• The third Walking Dead Compendium stays on top for the fourth week in a row, and this week is joined in the #2 & #3 spots by the other two Compendia. 
• The top debut this week is the second volume in Anthony Bourdain & Joel Rose's Get Jiro! series, Blood & Sushi.
• Also debuting in the top ten this week is Lauren Redniss's Thunder & Lightning. I went back and forth as to whether or not to include it as a comic; the heavily illustrated prose really walks the borderline, but in the end I opted for inclusion.
• Rounding out this week's debuts are the third volume of One Punch Man and the 2016 Dilbert Day-to-Day Calendar.
• With last week's new Star Wars trailer now in the rearview mirror the Star Wars comics take a dip down this week, though I suspect that as we get closer to the mid-December release there will be another surge of interest.

Commentary:

• The third Walking Dead Compendium stays on top for the third week in a row.
• The top debut this week is Judah Friedlander's If the Raindrops United; the comedian/writer/actor has been doing the talk show circuit promoting his book of drawings and cartoons.
• But after that, the big story on the chart this week is Star Wars, with three of the top ten spots and thirteen overall in the top fifty.  The collection of Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens debuts at #9 as a preorder, and all four of the individual digital issues show up on the chart as well. The first volumes of the collections of Marvel's Star Wars & Darth Vader comics make the top ten, while the preorder for the Princess Leia collection sneaks in at #50. And of course several of Jeffrey Brown's Star Wars books show up as well.
• Also debuting this week are Chip Kidd's Only What's Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of Peanuts; another Complete Peanuts box set; the second volume of One Punch Man; the English translation of Riad Sattouf's The Arab of the Future; and the hardcover collection of Grant Morrison's The Multiversity.

• A new number one this week: The third massive Walking Dead Compendium makes it to the top of the chart just in time for the debut of the new season of the TV show this weekend. 
• Debuting in the #2 slot this week is the first Bitch Planet collection, which was featured prominently in an NPR interview with writer Kelly Sue DeConnick on Wednesday. 
• Also debuting this week are a new issue of Injustice, Adrian Tomine's Killing and Dying, a new Minecraft comic, a collection of the Webcomic Poorly Drawn Lines, and the first collection of Marvel's Darth Vader comic.
• Rounding out this week's debuts is the collection of The Sandman: Overture. I'd expect that by the time the holiday shopping season gets into full swing in a little over a month this will be up in the top five.

• There are a good number of debuts on the chart this week, led by the highly discounted Marvel Comics: 75 Years of Cover Art and the pre-order of Sandman: Overture, both in the top ten.
