Commentary:

• Remarkably stable at the top of the chart this week, with the top four—a Dilbert calendar and the three Walking Dead Compendia—being exactly the same as last week. This is the first time since September that a book has topped the chart for two weeks in a row.
• The only debut this week is the second volume of Paper Girls.
• A lot of comic strips collections on the chart this week: sixteen if I counted right.

Commentary:

• One of the signs that we have entered the holiday shopping season is the prominence of comic strip day-to-day calendars on the Amazon chart, and this year is no different. Led by the Dilbert day-to-day calendar in the #1 position, this week also sees calendars from The Argyle Sweater, The New Yorker, Maxine, Peanuts, The Little World of Liz Climo, Non Sequitur, and Pearls Before Swine.
• The other major sign of the holiday season is the re-appearance of Calvin & Hobbes collections, as this week sees three on the chart in addition to the Complete slipcase set.

Commentary:

• Another week, another Kindle sales pushing a Marvel collection to the top of the chart. This week it is Ta-Nehisi Coates & Brian Stelfreeze's Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet. Other sale-priced kindle edition Marvel collections also make the chart this week, including Vision, Spider-Man/Deadpool, and a couple of Doctor Strange collections.
• Only two other new items on the chart this week: the final Complete Peanuts box set, and a new DC Super Hero Girls OGN.
• Today kicks off the holiday shopping season, so look forward to a shift in the chart over the next few weeks to reflect that (hello more Calvin & Hobbes!)

• Day-to-Day calendars are in demand again for 2017, with The New Yorker, The Argyle Sweater and Maxine joining Dilbert on the chart this week.

• Another week, another Marvel Kindle sale: Yesterday it was X-Men: Days of Future Past, vaulting it to the top of the chart this morning. For five of the last six week Marvel has claimed the top spot with a different sale-priced Kindle collection.
• Yesterday also saw the release of the trailer for the new Luc Besson film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which then saw several Valerian graphic albums leaping up onto the comics chart (three of the print volumes and two of the Kindle editions). 
• Other debuts this week include: The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition, Moebius Library: The World of Edena, Simon's Cat vs. the World, and the Heart and Brain 2017 Wall Calendar.

Commentary:

• A combination of today's release of the Doctor Strange movie & a sale on Kindle Doctor Strange collection pushes a whopping eight Doctor Strange Kindle collections & OGNs onto the chart, including the top two positions. The hardcover edition of The Way of the Weird also peeks onto the chart at #49.
• It's also a big week for The Walking Dead, with eight entries on the chart this week, including six of the top ten.
• One-Punch Man is the only non-Doctor Strange or Walking Dead book in the top ten.
• Other debuts this week are a new volume of My Hero Academia, a hardcover Uzumaki omnibus, and Last Laughs, a cartoon collection.

Commentary:

• Abbi Jacobson's Carry This Book, which mysteriously disappeared from the chart last week, is back again, and this time in the top position.
• The Walking Dead returned to television this past weekend, and the collections moved up the chart. Four WD collections are in the top ten, with four more appearing further down in the top fifty.
• The top debut this week is the first Mockingbird collection, with the Kindle edition and the second collection (not due out until April 2017) also making an appearance. 
• The Monster Girl Encyclopedia and a new edition of the DC Comics Encyclopedia debut this week. Technically they aren't comics, but some time back I made the decision to not weed these comic-based encyclopedias from the list, so I'm sticking to it.

• The news that the upcoming Wolverine movie will be based on Old Man Logan pushes related collections onto the list, with the original Millar/McNiven story taking the #1 & #3 slots, and the more recent collections debuting later on down the list.

• Sorry that this is going up much later than usual; the snapshot was taken Friday morning, but I didn't get a chance to finish the post until this evening.
• The new #1 this week is the Kindle edition of Star Wars: Vader Down. Maybe there was a sale earlier in the week? But then there's also a lot of print editions of Darth Vader collections also returning to the chart this week. Maybe Darth Vader is suddenly in vogue again?
• Debuting in the #2 slot is the pre-order for Carry This Book by Abbi Jacobson. It's borderline being an actual comic, but I decided to keep it on the chart as it's close enough.

Commentary:

• This week's top seller is the kindle edition of Wolverine: Enemy of the State. It was on sale yesterday, and combined with news about the final Wolverine movie (Logan) also hitting, it was a top-selling proposition.
• The book that was at the top of the chart for the past four weeks, Big Nate: From the Top, is now nowhere to be seen. It appears that Amazon once again reclassed it out of the regular Comics & Graphic Novels category and back into the kids section. So it goes.
• If you go over to the regular Comics & Graphic Novels chart on the Amazon site, you'll see a lot of Kindle editions at or near the top of the list that aren't on this summation. That's because earlier this week Amazon debuted its Prime Reading service, where Amazon Prime customers can download and read for free many books, magazines & comics. It appears that Amazon is counting those free downloads as sales for the purposes of their bestsellers charts, but since it has long been the practice here to not include items that are free I'm excluding the Prime Reading titles as well.
• Casting news about an upcoming movie adaptation of My Friend Dahmer causes the graphic novel to return to the chart, in both print and Kindle editions.
• New titles to the chart this week include the Kindle edition of the new issue of The Walking Dead, the latest The Wicked + The Divine collection, the sale-priced Kindle edition of Iron Fist Epic Collection, the latest collection of Low, combined hardcover editions of Avatar: The Last Airbender—Smoke and Shadow and Uzumaki, the second volume of Yona of the Dawn, and Heart and Brain: Gut Instincts: An Awkward Yeti Collection.
