A Great Cover, but...

That's an excelent Frank Quitely cover to All-Star Superman #1, but shouldn't the cover to a brand-new super-hero title be, oh, I dunno, a little more exciting and action-oriented? It'd make a great cover for a second issue, but a first issue cover needs to grab the reader a bit more, I think.

That's the cover?

Uh oh.

I thought that was just a promo piece.

Uh oh.

As a promo piece, it's awesome.

As a first issue cover?

Ugh.

In this issue Superman is being played by none other than... Jay Leno!

DC should arrange some sort of artwork exchange. That would make a great cover for a Flight anthology, and I'm sure one of their artists could do an awesome Superman cover for DC.

It's not too bad. I think the real push for this line will be in paperbacks, so the TPB cover might be something a little more dynamic.

I think this is great. It's different. Different is GOOD. Difference can even be, in its own way, dynamic. Who needs the same old same old? Quitely can do action if needs be, but he's trying to go in another direction.

You know, I actually like it - you would expect a great, whiz-bang entrance for Morrison's Superman; having him just sit on a cloud...too freakin' awesome.

(And to the guy who thinks Superman is a pussy...you are so wrong, pal.)
